Depths of Despair
Landing on my current job is my BIGGEST mistake ever! I drag myself to work everyday and I go home looking like a zombie. Almost everyone at work do not know what they are doing and do not take effort to understand and they ASSUME!!!
To make it even worse, I'm bonded for 1 year and it only ends on 20 June 2012. It's another 165 calendar days left to be exact...
God, I need lots of strength to pull through this.. tick tock tick tock...

Family or work?
Am feeling extremely down at the moment. Unwillingly went to work today due to worry about my bro who was hospitalised at 1am and the whole family had very little sleep. Asked my boss whether i can take another day off (on top of yesterday's emergency leave) just to be with my brother and mom. she wasn't very happy about it, i can tell.
was really torn apart by these two... and i reluctantly went to work. but thank god bro was discharged at 4pm today. hope he'll recover asap.
makes me really think that whether the job is as worthy as my love ones...

Start of 2011 - with determination!
Got a sms from my daddy wishing me happy new year and he reminded me to plan my goals for 2011. Too bad daddy, your little girl is now all grown up and had already laid down her goals last night over yummy dinner and sweet semillion with hubby.
Counting my blessings for 2010 because of the following main reasons:
- got married (love u lots hon!!! muackss!!)
- grow and excel in my job (got very good appraisal from my boss!!)
- traveled a lot (went to Shenzhen, Macau, Singapore and Gold Coast)
- Teddy project 01 up and running after 3 long years of wait (so far the tenant is behaving)
and so much more! thank you 2010...
Things to look forward to in 2011:
- move in to our new place at Kinrara (should be end of Dec 2011 or Jan 2012)
- become a mommy (working hard at the moment, ahem!!!)
- handle larger portfolios at work (i know i can do it!!)
- Korea trip in April (can't wait to see the pink sakura)
2011, please continue to guide me - throw me all you've got and i'll be grateful for all the love, friendship, laughter and lessons the same time around next year.

New look!
Yup, gave this humble 'lil place an uplift to celebrate 96 more days to our wedding! clap clap!
So just a few outstanding wedding items that i can think of at the moment:
a) flower corsage / chest pin
i hear you Nigo, no corsage but pin for you.. okies... haven't place any orders yet... do you guys think this is nice? Should go well with white dresses / shirts (for the heng tai). Let me know, ya?
b) liquor
don't plan to get much hard liquor since their only fans are the golden citizens ahem... just plan to get 4 bottles to shut grumpy mom up! the floor? will be serving beer, bottoms up people [insert evil kitty grin + lips smacking]
c) guest list
this is tough and most probably more stressing than the entire wedding itself... i'm worried that i don't have enough guests to fill 18 tables... better not worry so much for now.
d) erm.. there's more but i can't seem to remember...
I had been running around for the past few days, juggling parents, hubby, house renovation (yup, the one in Damansara Perdana is finally ready and tenant should move in by 1st Sept), picking furniture, and of course work, yes how can i forget. had started war with the afghans (literally but in banking terms) because it's really hard to reach them and they have the tendency not to reply emails and when you call the voice recording says - negara yang anda dail tidak dapat di sambungkan kerana semua talian sedang digunakan. i'm counting my blessings coz i have telekom. amen.
then war with those IT guys in India about system issues. i still fail to understand why do they still allow something like "scheduled" quarterly reboot to cause file distribution error. they knew the reboot will impact the users but they still go ahead!? I'm now in the midst of warring era to get them to change the reboot time. Napoleon Bonaparte, I need your strength... Hitler, your creative ways of brandishing agony upon others are highly regarded.. perhaps, your mustache should be good enough..
Then the last but not least a 'friend' in London which always make my regional reporting life harder than it should be. Collating data from 14 countries is no fun, given that the communication bit is really nerve testing...
I think that should be enough... for now. Anyways, the day is near - 96 more days to go!

New toy!

No Paint, No Ouch!!!
Just got back from paint ball match at Taman Botani Shah Alam. It was a hell of an experience, I got shot in my right hip and the size of the bruise is as big as a chicken egg!!!! Nevertheless, it was exciting.. coz they served BBQ lamb for lunch. Muawahahahahaha!! Oishi!!! >_<

That perfect dress
My ROM (Registration of Marriage) is next Saturday, 31 Oct 2009 on Halloween. I got a black dress coz I wanna match Jean's full black attire. I realised that mommy will not be agreeable to the black color. Another friend said "Darling, u kahwin lah... bukan berkabung!" I was taken aback. So when MK sms me saying that she found my favourite beer at Bangsar Village.... might as well seek her advice.
I went home for dim sum breakfast and I decided to give it a try, "Mommy can I wear black on my ROM?" All three of them (mommy, daddy, bro) answered in perfect sync, "NO!" So I need another dress. Daddy wanted me to get a pink one, bro - white & mommy - red.....
Mommy suggested we go shopping together and we got the dress for a, ahem, very affordable price (from a shop in Petaling Street) - it was really cheap! But I can't help feeling that the dress is too glamour looking for registration. Mommy says that it's still a marriage ceremony so it's ok to go all out... but hey, so long it's nice.. it should be fine right? ( I really hope I didn't go overboard with the dress).

Got the Rings!
It's not an easy task to find the right ring coz size, design, stone, price, etc all comes into picture. After the first few shops my head is starting to spin due to all the blings and a few more shops later I feel that most wedding bands tend to look the same in terms of design. Finally, we settled for a pair from Diamond & Platinum. My finger is too small (size 6) so have to special order.
(Meow takes a big red marker and strike off "RINGS" from her long list). ONE down! Happy happy Meow! ^_^

Hse mate say wanna move back to Ipoh so will not be staying with us anymore. This gal always pay the rent late and I hv to become debt collector even at home. She stil has the guts to ask for the deposit refund (too bad, no refund coz the contract is for 1 whole yr, the owner will not pay us back if we didn't stay here for the whole yr). Now me & Jean hv to pay more for the rent. Sigh! Jean asked "Sweetie, why don't we just get our own place?" Yeah, why not since the rent for our current place is already RM750/mth.

Went to see 2 units of condo in Shah Alam with the real estate agent. We liked neither 1. Sigh! Just hv to continue to look then. Sob!

Went to Mid Valley for Transformers 2. It starts @ 1.30pm so we walked for a bit. There's a property fair going on in the exhibition hall. Went in for a sneak peek. Came out holding brochure of The Zest @ Bkt Kinrara 9 (http://www.thezest.com.my/). Paid the deposit almost immediately since the location is directly in front of an approved LRT station (this station is suppose to be built in 2 yrs time to extend the STAR line) and it has 2 parking bays. A beau indeed! So our future abode is one stop after Bukit Jalil station. Happy happy Meow! When we signed the Letter of Offer after we paid the booking, Jean held my hand & whispered, "This is a very BIG step for both of us!" I hv to agree coz when I signed that piece of paper, I felt like I was signing my marriage certificate!

Finally settled for OCBC as the end financier. I almost fell off my chair when I heard that the rate that they're offerring is BLR -2.3%. I know the purchase price is a bit on the high side (RM261k) but I really didn't expect such a good deal.

Went to the sales office in Bdr Puteri, Puchong to sign the SPA. I really hate the lawyers, they must be smirking in the corner when all of us (including other purchasers) were struggling to initial every single page of the agreements. Lawyer grinned sinisterly, I swear!

Went to work (on a Sunday morning). Decided to let my parents know about it. Dad was continuously extending his congratultory remark over the phone. I asked "Why is it that you did not congratulate me for my previous 2 purchase?" "Tim, this one is different, you bought it with your spouse-to-be". Geez! I really didn't expect that. Yeah, we had been talking about the "M" word a lil too much for the past few mths. Hmmm... both Jean & me has been planning on the funds for quite a while now. We'll hv lots of budgeting to do. Surfed net looking for wedding budget tips. Stopped by a site with the heading "Book your 2010 wedding reception with us now". Are these ppl serious? So I was suddenly slapped with the very fact that if we were to book anything, we need a date. Yes, a date. We had always had the plan to get married in November since it's the month that we begin our love. Flipped through the calendar on my work desk. 20th Nov (Sat) sounds nice. Rang Mommy, Can help me to check if 20/11/10 a good day for "M"? She took down our birth dates, and promised to call back after checking with the Sifu (you know which field she's in so these kind of things are very easy for her to look up). She confirmed that it is a very auspicious day for the both of us. So, it's fixed. Texted Jean the gd news. He was overjoyed. Nigo, will you be around at that time?

Meet the parents. Cool (not)! We were so nervous. 18th - his parents. 25th - my parents (during dinner). They are very happy for us. I can tell. Even Mommy which is always with her usual "I-hate-the-world-but-I love-only-money" air, seemed rather soft.
Before that, we had the whole afternoon to ourselves after signing the Loan agreement (yeah, another 1, i know, thanks for your concern over my aching fingers) in the morning. Drove to Pudu just to check out some of the bridal shops b4 meeting my parents in a restaurant in Bukit Bintang. Initial plan was just to see-see since never been to one before. Wanted to compare packages & price. End up paying a booking fee but photo shoot date yet to be decided since "M" is only in Nov next yr. I guess better put th PS next yr. Jean thinks March is just nice so that we don't hv to rush. The sales girl was very professional and very honest on the packages like "these are included and these are not included". She showed us a few photo albums. Both of us were really amazed by her selling & customer service skills (since both of us are also from the service industry, we can tell right away that she is a rare breed). She grabbed 3 gowns for me to try on. I was like, ummm... you are not gonna charge me right? She laughed, shook her head and said "No, miss. Just wanna let you feel the wedding. So, I tried all 3 on. The gowns were gorgeous. Jean's eye balls popped, walked closer to me and all he could say at first was "Sweetie...". He paid the deposit immediately after that.

Called the sales office to confirm that I will be coming to pick up the stamped SPA since tomorrow is my offday. Jean proposed that we go for our Registration of Marriage (ROM) next Monday since both of us took the whole week off. My excitement were short lived over the news. Wanna know why? We ralized that we work in the same bank, same department, reporting to the same boss! We can't get married and work in the same department, it's against some god-knows-what banking policy (it's deemed as legally married if we do the ROM thingy). So 1 of us will hv to move out fm the department. In these moment of panic / confusion, Jean called to ask his TL-cum-buddy and sought his advice. "Chill, bro. Boss already see this coming and he say he will do the necessary arrangement." My jaw dropped. My, my, a boss with great vision and foresight! So, no ROM until the "arrangement" is done (which I don't really know what he has in mind for us. Can't ask him either since he's currently on leave in overseas. Guess we'll hv to wait til he comes back or we'll just do the ROM next yr maybe in July. 2 moths b4 the real "M" should be manageable.
I think a lot has happened in July 2009. It's really worthy of a post in this humble blog. Meanwhile, we'll stil continue to prepare for the big "M" day - $$$, restaurant hunting, card printing, guest list, etc, etc. Both of us has agreed that we will take all these slowly.... and we mean real slow coz we have time til Nov next yr :)

Chocs to Die For @ Schokolart
Thanks to Sango for bringing me to this choco heaven for my birthday treat. The warm cinnamon choco with marshmallow was awesomely rich. The choco banana blend was devil-licious! However, the signature dish - chocolate satay - although worth mentioning, was a little weird :P

Laproscopic Surgery
I'm finally back home after the operation on Friday morning and I really mean morning (0030 to 0230 @ SJMC). Suspected appendicitis but turns out to be some bleeding in the right ovary. So the doctors decide to take out the appendix & rectify the bleeding due to rapture ( don't worry they didn't take away my ovary). They recorded everything on a DVD but I don't think I'm gonna watch it. Now I'm still feeling a little painful while I walk but everything's fine. So I should just sit back & enjoy my 2 weeks home rest.
Oh, also not to mention that the hospital bill turns out to be a whopping RM11k+, thank god the tiger bank is paying!
A very big thank you to my dearest collegues for the cards, gifts & well wishes. I'm really touched.
After this incident I decided to turn over a new leaf, that is to eat healthier. I should really cut down my sugar diet & replace with more veggies. But that's for now.... I hope I don't change my mind too soon :P
