There's only one 'F' word to describe my 24th birthday - FANTASTIC!! (which 'F' word you were thinking of? :P)

Nigo, thanks for the cute teddy card. Sango, thanks for the wonderful dinner. Yongo, thanks for the birthday wishes.
So the day started with some pasta lunch and then 2 movies in a row (totally laughed my head off!)
Then, there was the cake and Happy Birthday song..
Then, there was the cake and Happy Birthday song..
and the final blast at Souled Out. These two guys have bottomless stomachs, mind you.
After eight years of not seeing each other, I finally get to meet Asrul who works in the kitchen of Souled Out. God, when we stop growing upwards, we go sideways! Chuckles!
So let's toast to another wonderful year ahead and to my panda-look-a-like eyes tomorrow! Yawnnn..... Nite!

HUNGER & STARVATION: WHAT IS IT LIKE???
When hunger contractions occur in the stomach, the person sometimes experiences mild pain in the pit of the stomach, called hunger pangs. Hunger pangs usually do not begin until 12 to 24 hours after the last ingestion of food, in starvation. A single hunger contraction lasts about 30 seconds, and pangs continue for around 30-45 minutes, then hunger subsides for around 30-150 minutes. Individual contractions are separated at first, but are almost continuous after a time.
Individuals experiencing starvation lose substantial fat and muscle mass as the body breaks down these tissues for energy. Catabolysis is the process (medical condition) of a body breaking down muscles and other tissues in order to keep vital systems (such as the nervous system and heart muscle) working.

2. Donations, donations, donations towards the poor.
3. Economic development, better policies, and enlightenment of everyone to develop sustainable societies for food production, all the way to grass-roots.
4. Organizations providing cheap food, off the market, to the WFP and other humanitarian organizations.
5. Awareness of what drives up food prices, and preventing this with alternative solutions.
These 5 steps will end World Hunger. But it takes work.

Wow! What a day!
Today, I went out with mommy and her friend, Uncle W to quite a few places. To start with, we went all the way to Semenyih ~ because Mommy wanna bring me to try out a yummy-licious fish (wrapped in aluminum foil). So we had mutton, drunken chicken, steamed fish & tom-yam fish. Uhh... burrppppp! Excuse me, please. I was very stuffed and of course, 2 thumbs up for the cook. By the time we finished the meal was around 3.30pm (the journey from KL was quite long). So, end of event #1.
Event #3 : So from Semenyih, Uncle W drove all the way to Shah Alam to fetch grandma and then we went to Teluk Gong for dinner. We reached the restaurant at about 6pm. Come to think of it, didn't we just had lunch!? Uhh.... talk about putting on the kilos! Dang! Arghhhh... don't care cuz the lala fried meehoon was too sinfully tempting and devil-ish to resist! The chinese tea was exotic too. Had never tasted it before. Some great souvenirs from Uncle W's hometown in China. Really, I've never once doubted Uncle W's taste for chinese tea and tea with him was always "ticklish" with his exceptionally good sense of humor.
Today was indeed great and Mommy said apologetically while applying her night restoring cream, "I'll be away for training next Tuesday. Just think of today as your b'day treat, ok?" Suddenly I'm diagnosed with chronic melting cardiac tissues and latex pulp legs. To her, I'll always be her little girl :)
Event #2 : The famous Sek-la-tok temple (dunno what's it called in English). This top of the hill architecture was awesome. I have to say that this temple is surrounded by scenic and breath taking greens. Although it's a temple, there's a big fruit orchard at the back with mangosteen, papaya and durian trees. Unfortunately/fortunately, it's not the season yet so I'm saved from the to-eat-or-not-to-eat dilemma as my tummy was still full from the earlier meal.

Then, we grandma-napped (kidnapped) grandma back to our place and she's staying with us for a few days. I could use some extra company since it's holiday and as you guys know, dad, mommy and bro are just too busy for me. So I'll have someone to fuss over for the next 2 days (ahem, am beaming with pride).

Teddy Bear Therapy
Author: Joan Sotkin
If your life isn't working the way you'd like it to, then I'd like to suggest teddy bear therapy to help you create life stories that are more satisfying and rewarding.
One day, way back in 1981 when I was living in Atlanta, Georgia, I had a strong urge to buy a teddy bear. I found one that was warm and cuddly. A few weeks later, I had a deep-tissue massage after which I started having a strong emotional release. I felt weepy and sad, so I got into bed and curled up with the teddy bear.
I started crying and found myself talking out loud about my feelings. I felt as if I was a young child who was hurt and wounded. Suddenly, I had a strong image in my mind of myself when I was three years old. I was standing by my baby brother's crib feeling alone and left out. Tears came for what seemed like a long time. I knew the pain I was releasing was very deep. When it was over, I felt as if I had released the weight of years of pain, and I realized how strong an effect the birth of my brother had had on me. The effect of the experience with the teddy bear was extremely healing.
Holding the bear had stimulated a memory center in my brain from a time in my life when stuffed animals and dolls were my friends. The bear enabled me to reach back in time to touch unreleased emotions that were stored deep inside of me -- emotions that needed to be released in order for me to heal. I have come to believe that we create uncomfortable life stories in order to express unreleased pain. By releasing the pain, we can change the quality of our lives.
The teddy bear enabled me to make contact with the part of me that is referred to as the wounded child. The child within us is always there; it is the part of us that feels, plays and creates. But there are two parts to our inner child -- the healthy part that feels comfortable expressing itself and having fun and the wounded part that feels hurt, rejected and disappointed.
All of us have a wounded child because all of us had experiences in our childhood that made us uncomfortable. Because we were usually taught not to express our true feelings, the wounded child has many uncomfortable feelings locked inside that want to find expression. The wounded child will act out these uncomfortable feelings in life stories unless it is allowed to express itself so that the wounds can heal.
Because we keep the feelings of the wounded child buried inside of us for many years, it is often difficult to reach the feelings and release them. But if you make a conscious effort to access the feelings and experience them one more time, then you can go back in time and release them and change the endings to your life stories.
For example, if you were emotionally abused as a child, then you are probably creating life stories in the present that have elements of abuse in them. There is a technique you can use to go back into the memory, re-experience the feelings then work through them. One of the ways to do this is to speak, from the child's point of view, to the parent who abused you. You can hold a teddy bear for support and tell the parent how you felt. Then you can imagine him or her (or both) apologizing to you.
Here's how to do it! First, find yourself a teddy bear that feels good to hold. The size will vary with your size -- the larger you are, the larger the bear should be. Once you have a teddy bear, you will want to hold it and use it in your own special way. You might also like to try one of the following exercises:
Give your teddy bear a name. Make it a real companion that you can talk to and confide in. Yes, you may feel silly doing this at first, but no one is going to know about it except you. It may take some practice, but after a while, you'll be able to connect to your wounded child. When you feel uncomfortable or unhappy, tell the teddy bear how your feel. Talk out loud. Use the phrase I feel _______.
Hold the teddy bear in one hand and let it hang by your side as you walk -- the way young children do. The idea is to rekindle feelings that you had as a child and by acting as if you are a child, you'll be able to do it.
Sleep holding on to your teddy bear. Any time you are feeling sad or uncomfortable, lie down and cuddle up with your teddy bear. Close your eyes and imagine that you are traveling inside of your body. Try to feel where you are experiencing the discomfort. Say, out loud, I feel so uncomfortable. Try to define the feeling. (I feel sad, I feel angry, I feel alone, etc.) This is an effective release technique.
Affirmations Can Help. Releasing feelings is often difficult and takes practice, especially if you were not allowed to express your feelings as a child. In order to stimulate the release process, you might want to try one of the following affirmations:
+ I release my fear of my feelings
+ I give myself permission to feel my feelings and release them
+ I release all pain and memory of pain
+ I give my wounded child permission to express itself
+ I release all pain and memory of pain
+ I give myself permission to love myself
+ I release my shame and embarrassment
+ I release my fear of self expression
You can repeat the affirmations any time during the day or during meditation. A good time to do affirmations is while you are driving, walking or doing mindless tasks such as washing the dishes.
If your life isn't working the way you'd like it to, then I'd like to suggest teddy bear therapy to help you create life stories that are more satisfying and rewarding.

The History Of The Teddy Bear
In 1902 President Theodore Roosevelt was on a hunting trip in Mississippi. As reported in the Washington Post, the presidential hunting party. trailed and lassoed a lean, black bear, then tied it to a tree. The president was summoned, but when he arrived on the scene he refused to shoot the tied and exhausted bear, considering it to be unsportsmanlike.
The following day, November 16, Clifford Barryman, Washington Post editorial cartoonist, immortalized the incident as part of a front-page cartoon montage. Barryman pictured Roosevelt, his gun before him with the butt resting on the ground and his back to the animal, gesturing his refusal to take the trophy shot. Written across the lower part of the cartoon were the words "Drawing the Line in Mississippi," which coupled the hunting incident to a political dispute.
The cartoon drew immediate attention. In Brooklyn, NY, shopkeeper Morris Michtom displayed 2 toy bears in the window of his Stionary and novilty store. The bears had been made by his wife, Rose from plush stuffed excelsior and finished with black shoe button eyes. Michtom recognized the immediate popularity of the new toy, requested and received permission from Roosevelt himself to call them "Teddy's Bears." The little stuffed bears were a success. As demand for them increased, Michtom mooved his business to a loft, under the name of the Ideal Novelty and Toy Corporation.
At the same time as it was born in The United States, the Teddy Bear was also born in Germany. The Steiff Company of Giengen produced it's first jointed stuffed bears during the same 1902-1903 period. The company had made toys for a number of years and had produced small wool-felt pincushion type animals of many varities. The animals were the creation of Margaret Steiff. Steiff bears were first introduced at the 1903 Leipzig Fair, where an American buyer saw them and ordered several thousand for shipment to the US.
While other stories have been told regarding the birth of this wonderful toy, the simultaneous births in Brooklyn and Giengen are the best substantiated. The cartoon at the here is a later version of the Barryman cartoon as it appeared in The Washington Star.

I am what I was
It's been two years since I left Uni and started to stand on my own two feet. No more exams, no more assignments and no more squabbling team mates. Vividly, I remembered my first day at work. So eager, so care-free. Singing along to the cheap radio, blarring my off-pitch voice in my mini yellow taxi all the way to work. I was on cloud nine.
The colleagues were good, I found friends worthy of a life-time. Til this day, we gather occasionally to share little giggles and life experiences over good food. I really missed them.
And I also just realised this one thing ~ I often blog about the past. The vibrant past. Why? It strucked me. Was I too deep into everyday's hassle that I did not stop to appreciate all things that I have at that one moment in time? No, I've always felt alive because I have a vibrant past. I am what I am because I was what I was. Vibrant... and will continue to be!
Don't give up!! Tomorrow will be better ^_^
The colleagues were good, I found friends worthy of a life-time. Til this day, we gather occasionally to share little giggles and life experiences over good food. I really missed them.
